Garmin is rolling out a new stable update for the Instinct 3, Instinct E and Instinct Crossover smartwatches. Software version 12.23 arrives a few weeks after the last stable release, version 12.21, which brought a new Health Status feature, a Steps data field and a Pulse Ox watch face data field.
The new version 12.23 release for these Garmin Instinct 3 and related smartwatches is a relatively minor update. For all users comes a bug fix addressing a problem where apps could not be added as expected in Garmin Connect Manager.
The second bug fix is only for users of the Instinct 3 Solar and Instinct E (curr. $199.99 at Amazon) wearables. This tackles a problem where Connect IQ apps were not downloading content, such as courses or workouts.
According to a recent post in the Garmin Forum, system software 12.23 is now available for at least 50% of users of the Instinct 3, Instinct E and Instinct Crossover smartwatches. It is unclear when the rollout will be complete. When available to you, the update should be pushed to your wearable automatically when connected to the Garmin Connect app or Garmin Express.
