Garmin has branched out into various new directions this year, not least the Index Sleep Monitor. Not only that, but the company expanded its high-end smartwatch series with the Fenix 8 Pro. Now, it seems that Garmin is preparing to return to the Vivosmart series after an extended break.
Specifically, multiple leaks indicate that the company is finally on the verge of replacing the Vivosmart 5 (curr. $149.99 on Amazon). Equipped with a small monochrome OLED display, the Vivosmart 5 landed over three years ago with up to 7 days of battery life and multiple health monitoring features. While a successor's design remains unknown for now, Garmin Rumors has uncovered the following description on Garmin's Indonesian website:
[The] Vivosmart 6 is a stylish sports watch suitable for both men and women. It is equipped with built-in GPS and more than 30 sports apps. This watch can track activities such as walking, running, cycling, swimming, and even wheelchair user activities, making it an ideal choice for your daily activity tracker.
Meanwhile, a Vivoactive 6 placeholder went live on Garmin Sweden. Although the listing does not explictly show a fitness tracker, it does mention the Vivosmart 6 by name. Moreover, a mysterious Garmin fitness tracker bearing the model number A04986 has now been certified by the National Radio Research Agency (NRRA) in South Korea. Despite not referencing the Vivosmart 6 directly, all signs seem to point toward an early 2026 Vivosmart refresh.
