Wristband monitors hormone levels around the clock, said to provide useful data for workouts and fertility

Smartwatches like the Samsung Galaxy Watch7 can monitor numerous health metrics with a heart rate and SpO2 sensor, an ECG and a skin temperature sensor. However, Clair Health sees a gap in this area, as smartwatches do not monitor hormone levels.
This is exactly where the company's new wristband comes in. According to the manufacturer, the wearable can detect estrogen, progesterone, luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), and determine how hormone levels change throughout the day. This should enable, among other things, a more accurate prediction of menstrual cycles, especially compared to a smartwatch, which usually only relies on data from a skin temperature sensor.
The accompanying smartphone app is designed to calculate the exact fertility window based on hormone data. Furthermore, estrogen levels are intended to provide valuable insights into athletic performance, thus helping users determine the optimal time for an intense workout. Clair Health is primarily targeting athletes, women experiencing menopause, and those planning a pregnancy.
Clair Health is yet to provide details on how exactly hormone levels are measured. Interested buyers are advised to wait for independent tests or studies that demonstrate the accuracy of the data collected by Clair.
Price and availability
Clair Health has not yet confirmed when or at what price the hormone-tracking wristband will be released. Those who register their email address on the manufacturer's website will receive a 50% discount on the wearable at launch, as well as lifetime free access to the accompanying smartphone app.
