Maono has unveiled a new USB microphone for gamers and streamers that offers wireless connectivity, AI-powered voice effects, and more. The DM40 Pro is touted as an all-in-one solution for high-quality content creation delivering detailed broadcast-quality sound. It comes in two colors, black and white, and competes with the likes of the NZXT Capsule Elite and HyperX QuadCast S USB microphones.
Maono DM40 Pro specifications
The DM40 Pro condenser mic, like many other microphones, can sit on the desk or be mounted in an arm, but what it does differently is offer wireless connectivity. It comes with a USB receiver and adapter that allows for a cable free connection between the source and the mic at an advertised 0.02 seconds of latency. This wireless connectivity is enabled by an internal battery that is said to last up to 75 hours with RGB off and up to 40 hours with RGB on. The DM40 Pro mic consists of the pop filter, sponge, mic capsule, shock mount, and a stand.
There is a 16mm condenser capsule inside that can record at 48 kHz/24-bit, making it a bit better than the 48 kHz/16-bit capability of the more expensive HyperX Quadcast S. The NZXT Capsule Elite still outshines both of them with its 24-bit depth and a 192 kHz sample rate, but it is a wired microphone.
Coming to the AI capabilities, some may find it to be useful while others may see it as a gimmick, but the DM40 Pro can use AI to change your voice and there are 10 modes to choose from. These include sounding like Deadpool, Sukuna from Jujutsu Kaisen, Jett from Valorant, Tifa from Final Fantasy, and others. The Maono Link software allows changing these effects, as well as enabling noise cancellation, customizing RGB lighting, and making EQ adjustments.
On the top of the DM40 Pro, there is a mute button while the Mic gain dial is located at the front. The same dial is also used for headphone volume and pressing the dial allows switching between the two. At the bottom are the power/RGB button and Mic Monitor toggle, along with a headphone jack and USB Type-C charging port.
