The new Insta360 Connect is advertised as an "AI video bar" that transforms a standard screen into a conference setup in no time at all. Insta360 installs 14 microphones that are designed to capture voices clearly from a distance of up to ten meters. AI noise reduction is designed to further improve sound quality.
The voices of conversation partners are reproduced via an integrated 20 watt speaker. The highlight of the equipment, however, are the two cameras, each equipped with a 48 MP sensor in 1/1.3 inch format and capable of recording videos in 4K resolution at 30 frames per second. One of these cameras is combined with a wide-angle lens with a field of view of 110 degrees for capturing the entire conference room.
The second camera has a telephoto lens with a field of view of 40 degrees and a motorized gimbal, which automatically aligns to the person who is currently speaking. This means that the entire conference room and a close-up of the person currently speaking can be shown at the same time. Thanks to AI, each individual participant in a meeting can be captured and displayed individually in a video chat window. A privacy shutter covers both cameras.
