Jsaux MagCool OmniGrip debuts as smartphone camera grip with in-built storage and lighting
The new Hohem iSteady M7 "AI gimbal" for vlogging, photography or streaming is now available on Amazon for $299.99 - however, Jsaux has also just announced a product that seems capable of doing most of the same things for a fraction of that price.
They even include an alternative to the iSteady series' fill light. Located on the back of the OmniGrip's magnetic, "semiconductor cooling"-enabled mount, the ring flash can be tuned between cold, warm and natural white tones to suit different shots.
The handle also packs an enclosure compatible with up to 1TB SSDs (apparently of the M.2 2280 variety), which can be connected to the iPhone or smartphone (which could use a stick-on magnetic ring in the absence of an in-built charging coil, like the new OnePlus 13 or Vivo X200 series) via a wired USB 3.2 Gen 2 connection.
The MagCool OmniGrip is also a 6,000mAh power bank in case of battery emergencies, and can also accommodate a microphone and tripod (the latter of which is sold separately). The 179 gram (g) accessory also folds down to a length of 15.9 centimeters for storage.
On the other hand, Jsaux' latest creation is not motorized, does not have a touchscreen (although it does have a capture button) and we would not advise you to use it with an actual camera.
The MagCool OmniGrip is available to back on Kickstarter starting at $59.99 at the time of writing: an estimated 33% off its eventual retail price. The campaign is already funded by ~600% of its original goal after just 1 day of activity.
