PNY touts its latest solid-state drive (SSD) as capable of "Next-Gen Speeds" thanks to its new NVMe PCIe Gen5 x4 interface. The OEM asserts that it is the ideal new PC upgrade for professionals with its TCG Opal 2.0 spec. The CS2150 also supports Microsoft DirectStorage for potentially enhanced loading times in Windows gaming.

PNY is confident that swapping your current SSD with the CS2150 is the latest way to optimize load-times, quality and general gameplay on a PC - although mostly if it is also equipped with other up-to-date components supporting standards at least as new as DDR5 and Direct X12 (such as XLR8 Gaming-series memory sticks and RTX 4000-series cards, as the OEM strongly hints).

The new M.2 2280 SSD also supports Microsoft DirectStorage for PCs with Windows 10 1909 or newer. It is also hyped as a productivity asset with TCG Opal 2.0 for potentially enhanced hardware-level data security.

It is also backed to be a "highly durable" drive with a 1.5 million hour mean time between failure (MTBF) rating and a low-density parity check (LDPC) error-correction code (ECC) algorithm.

The CS2150 SSD is available from now in the form of a 1TB SKU rated for a read speed of up to 10.2GB/s and a write speed of up to 8.3GB/s, or the 2TB top-end model with the 'full' up-to-10.3GB/s read speed and 8.6GB/s write speed.

They are listed on Amazon at their RRPs of $99.99 and $179.99 respectively with a 5-year limited warranty or TBW in the US.
