PNY has launched the PRO Elite High Endurance microSD flash cards. These cards are designed to withstand hours of continuous video recordings when used in body, dash, and security cameras.
Regular microSD cards are designed to store files like photos and documents that are left untouched for a long time. However, they wear out quickly when used for continuous video recording applications because the entire capacity is being frequently overwritten.
High endurance cards are designed to compensate for premature memory cell wear so that the stored videos are not lost. Additionally, the cards are built for durability against environmental stresses such as shock, water exposure, and more.
The PRO Elite High Endurance cards are certified to meet minimum Class 10, U3, and V30 speed standards and exceed these minimums with up to 100 MB/s read speeds and 90 MB/s write speeds. This allows the cards to be used for 2K and 4K video recordings. The cards can survive 137,600 hours of 1,920 x 1,080 video recording at 26 Mbps, according to PNY. This is over 15 years of continuous recordings.
The PNY PRO Elite High Endurance microSD flash cards are priced at an MSRP of $62.99 for a 512 GB card or less. They will be available for purchase shortly from PNY and the PNY store on Amazon.
