With the Samsung Galaxy S25 launch rapidly approaching, the leaks are not too far behind. Earlier, we got a glimpse at the Galaxy S25 Plus in the flesh. Before that, the Galaxy S25 Ultra showed up on two occasions. Now, renowned leaker Evan Blass has revealed the exact date Samsung could reveal its flagship smartphones.
Promotional material sourced from what looks like Samsung's Italian website says Galaxy Unpacked will happen on January 22. It sits beside a conspicuous looking X-shaped logo. Some speculate the X could stand for Bixby, which is rumoured to make a comeback with the Galaxy S25 series.
Ice Universe, on the other hand, argues it heralds the arrival of the putative fourth Galaxy S25 phone, previously referred to as the Galaxy S25 Slim. After all, the 'X' does resemble four phones placed together at right angles. But, if past reports are to be believed, the Galaxy S25 Slim isn't scheduled to debut until April 2025.
Regardless of how many Galaxy S25 variants Samsung decides to show off, they'll arrive nine days earlier than their last-gen counterparts, which were unveiled on January 31. Plus, Blass has a stellar track record when it comes to leaks, and a January 22 reveal sits in line with Samsung's release schedule in the past few cycles.
For now, there's no certainty about the supporting cast surrounding the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25 Plus and Galaxy S25 Ultra. It is far too early for new earbuds and watches. Arrow Lake-powered Galaxy Book laptops might be shown off earlier at CES 2025. That leaves us with Samsung's AR Glasses and maybe some AI-powered features for previous-gen Galaxy phones/tablets.
