The LG UltraGear 27GP95U is a new 27-inch gaming monitor that outputs natively in 4K and 144 Hz. However, the monitor also supports a 160 Hz refresh rate mode and delivers up to 600 nits peak brightness, among other features.

LG has offered up a new UltraGear gaming monitor, building on recent releases of the UltraGear 27GS60F, UltraGear 24GS60F and UltraGear OLED 45GS96QB. This time, the company has decided to introduce another gaming monitor that spans 27-inches across, albeit for a higher price point than the UltraGear 27GS60F. For context, the latter retails for €199.99 in the Eurozone.

By contrast, LG has priced the UltraGear 27GP95U at CNY 2,818 (~$391) in China but HK$4,999 (~$640) in Hong Kong. Unsurprisingly, the UltraGear 27GP95U contains more advanced hardware than the UltraGear 27GS60F, including the following ports:

  • 1x 3.5 mm combo jack
  • 1x DisplayPort
  • 2x HDMI
  • 2x USB 3.0 Type-A (downstream)
  • 1x USB 3.0 Type-B (upstream)

Additionally, the UltraGear 27GP95U outputs at 3,840 x 2,160 pixels and 144 Hz. However, the monitor can overclock its native refresh rate to 160 Hz when needed. Moreover, the monitor offers 1 ms GtG response times, 98% DCI-P3 colour space coverage and 400 nits typical brightness. With that being said, its VESA DisplayHDR 600 certification should ensure 600 nits peak brightness when viewing HDR content.

On top of that, the UltraGear 27GP95U supports AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and NVIDIA G-SYNC technologies to mitigate image tearing when gaming at high refresh rates. Unfortunately, it remains to be seen when the monitor will be available globally. Please see LG's website for more hardware details.
