LG confirms launch prices and release windows for new QNED and Mini LED Smart TVs

Teaser
LG has revealed launch pricing for its latest set of QNED monitors. Arriving from next month onwards, the new Smart TVs promise to deliver significant performance improvements over their predecessors thanks to LG's latest α8 AI processor.

A few days ago, LG announced European pricing for its new OLED Smart TVs, full details of which we have outlined separately. In summary, LG is offering seven OLED Smart TV sizes this year ranging from 42-inches to 97-inches split between B4, C4, G4 and M4 series. While LG has priced many for less than €3,000, its larger examples near €35,000.

Now, the company has revealed the recommended retail prices for its latest QNED Smart TVs. As with its OLED counterparts, LG's QNED 2024 crop will be released throughout the year. Specifically, many will start next month, including NANO87T, UT73, UT80 and UT81 and models. By contrast, LG will leave others like the NANO81T, NANO82T, QNED85T and QNED89T until May.

However, it remains to be seen when QNED80T, QNED91T or QNED99T series Smart TVs will go on sale. Please note that the latter two are LG's only new QNED Smart TVs that feature Mini-LED backlights, which explains their relatively high pricing. Moreover, both QNED99T have 8K panels underpinned by LG's more powerful α9 Gen 7 8K processor, compared to the 4K panels and α8 AI 4K processor included within QNED91T models.

Meanwhile, the α8 AI processor is slated to deliver 30% NPU, 60% CPU and 130% GPU performance improvements for Smart TVs like the QNED85T. Furthermore, the new processor provides full 48 Gbps bandwidth across four HDMI 2.1 ports unlike some of its predecessors. Thus, the likes of the QNED85T and QNED91T support 4K and 120 Hz gameplay on all their HDMI 2.1 ports when connected to devices that support that resolution and frame rate combination, such as the PlayStation 5 (curr. $449 on Amazon).
