MSI has revealed the MAG 256F, a 24.5-inch gaming monitor built around a 'Rapid IPS' panel. As such, the MSI MAG 256F delivers 1 ms GtG response times, which it complements with a 1080p resolution, a 180 Hz refresh rate and VRR support.

MSI has unveiled yet another compact gaming monitor, a few days after debuting the MAG 27CQ6F. This time, the company has introduced the MAG 256F, a new 24.5-inch 'Rapid IPS' option that outputs at 1,920 x 1,080 pixels with a 90 PPI pixel density. According to MSI's product page, the MAG 256F combines its 1080p native resolution with a 180 Hz refresh rate, as well as 1 ms GtG response times.

Additionally, the MAG 256F is said to offer 250 nits peak brightness, a 1,000:1 contrast ratio and 10-bit colour depth (8-bit + FRC). Moreover, the monitor is rated to cover 96% of the DCI-P3 colour gamut and supports Adaptive-Sync technology to mitigate image tearing at high refresh rates. On top of that, the monitor features a variable refresh rate (VRR) console mode when connected to an Xbox and includes the following ports:

  • 1x 3.5 mm jack
  • 1x DisplayPort 1.2a
  • 2x HDMI 2.0

Furthermore, MSI has integrated 75 x 75 mm VESA mounts, a stand that can be tilted and its AI Vision technology. Supposedly, AI Vision boosts brightness and colour saturation, an example of which we have embedded below. While MSI has not revealed pricing or availability details yet, more information about the MAG 256F can be found on its website.
