It's official: OnePlus is leaving Europe and the U.S., ColorOS replaces OxygenOS

OnePlus told The Verge and Android Authority that it will no longer operate in Europe and the U.S., confirming what rumors had already hinted at. Once existing inventory of smartphones such as the OnePlus 15 has been sold out, OnePlus will no longer ship devices or release new models.
OnePlus assures customers that neither any warranty claims nor the software updates already promised will be affected by this decision. While OnePlus’ parent company, Oppo, remains present in Europe and can handle warranty requests, the company will no longer have a presence in the U.S., meaning that processing warranty claims could take longer. Meanwhile, OnePlus smartphones that are set to receive at least one more major Android update will be switched from OxygenOS to ColorOS, as the OnePlus-exclusive version of Android is no longer being developed.
Technically, the two Android-based operating systems hardly differ from one another, the differences are now largely cosmetic. On this occasion, Oppo confirmed that Realme UI will also be discontinued and replaced by ColorOS to standardize the user experience across all Oppo subsidiary brands. Realme is expected to withdraw from the Chinese market but remain active in regions such as Europe. It is unclear what the future holds for OnePlus in the rest of the world. While Oppo declined to comment on this, a report from Bloomberg suggests that starting next year, the OnePlus brand will operate exclusively in China.
