Nubia unveils NaviX Ultra as "world's first AI agent smartphone"

Replacing apps with AI agents is by no means a new idea. In practice, however, the systems that have become established so far tend to continue offering apps while simplifying the use of this software through AI assistants. The Nubia NaviX Ultra is set to change that.
According to ZTE, it is the world’s first "AI agent smartphone." Aside from the fact that the smartphone comes with a special Doubao AI assistant, ZTE has not yet confirmed any details about which AI features the device offers, or whether the smartphone runs on Android and supports traditional Android apps. ZTE has also not yet confirmed details regarding specifications, price, or availability.
The manufacturer has already released an image showing the smartphone in white, pink, blue, and black. The Nubia NaviX Ultra features a display with exceptionally narrow bezels and a centrally located punch-hole. The subtly rounded frame is made of metal, as indicated by the visible antenna bands. In addition to volume buttons and a power button, the frame also features a dedicated orange AI button.
The camera module, styled after the Apple iPhone Air ($788 on Amazon), houses three cameras, with the elongated LED flash located below them. Further details about the Nubia NaviX Ultra, including information on specifications and software, are expected to be confirmed at the World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC) 2026, which will take place between July 17 and 20.
