Infinix launches new budget smartphone with matrix display and 6 fancy shades

Infinix has officially announced the successor to the last generation Hot 60 Pro smartphone. The company’s new Hot 70 Pro brings notable upgrades, from a secondary LED display and new processor to larger battery capacity and longer software updates. However, there are some downgrades. Speaking more precisely, you get an LCD panel instead of the AMOLED found on the last generation model. Plus, it now comes with an 8 MP selfie camera, a step down from the 13 MP of the Hot 60 Pro.
The highlight of the smartphone is its Active Matrix Cube LED display placed inside a third camera lens. For photography, there’s a dual rear camera setup consisting of a 50 MP Sony IMX882 main camera and an unknown sensor. Under the hood, the device is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7100 chipset paired with 8 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256 GB of internal storage with no room for storage expansion.
Furthermore, the budget-range smartphone is equipped with a 6.76-inch IPS LCD display that delivers 2344 x 1080 pixel resolution with an adaptive refresh rate (45/90/120/144 Hz) and a peak brightness of 950 nits. A 6,000 mAh battery powers the entire unit and supports 45 W wired charging (Anker Nano USB-C charger curr. at $25.99 on Amazon). Software-wise, it runs Android 16-based XOS 16 out of the box. Interestingly, Infinix promises 3 major OS updates (up to Android 19) and 5 years of security patches until 2031. In comparison, it still falls behind the Samsung Galaxy A37, which offers 6 major OS updates and 6 years of security patches.
