A few months have passed since we last heard about a new Xperia 10 smartphone being in development. In the meantime, we have reviewed the Xperia 1 VIII, a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5-powered smartphone that outlasts the Galaxy S26 Ultra by over 25% in our tests (curr. $1,030 on Amazon).
Now, the next Xperia 10 has reappeared on the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). If the Xperia 1 VIII is anything to go by, then the Xperia 10 VIII is unlikely to receive a US release despite Sony certifying the device for sale in the US. Nonetheless, previous leaks indicate that Sony will launch the Xperia 10 VIII globally under the model numbers XQ-GH44, XQ-GH54 and XQ-GH74.
Moreover, the FCC reveals that the device retains the 3.5 mm jack that Sony afforded to its predecessor. On top of that, the listing confirms that the Xperia 10 VIII supports 30 W wired charging via Sony's XGZ-UC1 power adapter. Also, the FCC suggests that the Xperia 10 VIII will arrive before the end of 2026.
Currently, the regulatory body has not yet published many notable hardware details. However, recent Xperia 10 releases point to the Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 being used. According to our benchmarks, this SoC would yield about a 6% performance boost for the Xperia 10 VIII over the Xperia 10 VII that we reviewed in late 2025.
