Caviar unveils gold-plated Messi and Ronaldo smartphones in exclusive new collection

Diehard football (or soccer) fans who have up to $20,000 worth of disposable cash to spend are in for a treat: Luxury smartphone brand Caviar has unveiled a new "Legends" collection of customized smartphones featuring football stars Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. Coinciding with the conclusion of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which is also expected to be the last appearance on the world stage for both players, the Messi-inspired piece is built on Samsung's yet-to-launch Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, while the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max are used for Ronaldo.
 

Also coinciding with the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event on July 22, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra edition portrays Messi in a handcrafted cloisonné enamel in Argentina's white and sky-blue colors, along with 24-karat gold outlines and plating across the device. Likewise, the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max versions feature a cloisonné enamel portrait of Ronaldo in the red and green colors of the Portuguese national team, also with 24-karat gold outlines and plating.

Each model is limited to just 19 units worldwide, reflecting its status as a collector's item rather than a conventional smartphone. The Messi-inspired Fold 8 Ultra starts at $18,382, while the Ronaldo-themed iPhone 17 Pro begins at $15,974. All smartphones come with a one-year warranty, and buyers can also request custom engravings, logos, design modifications or custom packaging. Shipping is expected to take up to one week.
