Huawei is thought to augment its foldable line-up with an iterative upgrade for the ultra-premium, up-to-10.2-inch Mate XT Ultimate Design in 2025.
Now, it is predicted to launch toward the end of September this year.
In other words, the Mate XT 2 event might pre-date that for Huawei's latest Kirin 9030 flagship mobile processor.
Therefore, the XT 2 might indeed have to make do with the 9020 instead, although that would still be an upgrade over the 9010-powered XT.
Its successor could also be on par with the new Pura 80 Ultra in terms of performance in any case. The XT 2 could also have new potential companion devices on its launch.
One could be the second-gen Huawei FreeClips, a pair of wireless earphones that may have informed the design of other open-ear accessories since their 2023 launch. They are also available internationally, even in their latest Beige colorway.
The "FreeClips 2" might also be joined by the "Watch GT 6" (and/or "6 Pro") on the XT 2's stage.
If so, either smartwatch would succeed some of the most prominent alternatives to the Apple Watch anywhere on Earth at present.
