Fiio has announced the slender JM21 2026, a combination digital audio player (DAP) and digital audio converter (DAC) with support for high-resolution music files.
The JM21 2026 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 SoC commonly found in mid-range smartphones. It is coupled with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of ROM running a customized Android 13 OS. A microSD slot accepts cards up to 2 TB in size.
The audio player provides balanced headphone output thanks to its dual Cirrus Logic CS43198 DAC chips and independent left and right circuitry, enabling a S/N ratio of over 130 dB with a THD+N under 0.0006%. It can play back high-resolution music files up to 32-bit, 384 kHz and comes with Hi-Res Audio certification, LDAC, LHDC, and aptX HD streaming codecs, and DSD512 support.
A 3,100 mAh battery provides up to 700 mW of output power to drive higher-end headphones. A three-way gain setting and adjustable volume curve allow users to adjust the JM21 2026 to better match the impedances and power requirements of various headphones.
The Fiio JM21 2026 DAP/DAC in black or blue will be released on January 23, 2026, with an MSRP of 39,600 yen (~$250). It measures 120.7 × 68 × 13 mm (4.8 x 2.7 x 0.5 in.) and weighs 156 g (5.5 oz.). Readers can look for the JM21 2026 to arrive in the Fiio store on Amazon.
