Meze Audio has unveiled the hand-crafted Strada closed-back, over-ear dynamic headphones for music lovers seeking impactful sound.
The Strada uses 50 mm dynamic drivers with a frequency range of 5 Hz to 30 kHz and a THD under 0.1% at 1 kHz. The headphones have an impedance of 40 Ω and a sensitivity of 111 dB SPL/mW at 1 kHz, allowing for use with lowered-powered audio sources such as smartphones. The torus around the cone driver is PVD-coated in beryllium for additional stiffness that helps improve the headphone's transparency, says the company.
The drivers are mounted on a magnesium frame that is hand-painted in multiple layers of metallic green paint. They are hidden behind golden-brown Macassar ebony wood-covered ear cups, which magnetically mount to the frame for ease of replacement and use memory foam cushions with PU leather covers. The inner ear cups are lined with Alcantara, a polyester-blend fabric, to help reduce heat build-up, says Meze Audio.
The headband includes soft, ventilated padding, and its length can be continuously adjusted.
Meze Audio has designed the Strada to be easily disassembled so that any part can be replaced by the owner for long-term use. The headphones weigh 330 g (11.64 oz.) and connect to audio sources using a 3.5 mm Y-cable.
The Meze Audio Strada has an MSRP of $799 and can be purchased from the company's website. Readers can also look for the headphones to arrive in the Meze Audio store on Amazon.
