Questyle has announced the Qlink-C, its entry-level USB-C digital audio converter with a 3.5 mm audio jack.
The DAC can be used with smartphones, tablets, and laptops to play back high-resolution audio, with support for up to 32-bit, 384 kHz music recordings.
The audio converter has a signal-to-noise ratio of 100 dB and a THD of –95 dB, which is decent performance but not the best. For example, the LG G7 smartphone with a quad-DAC exceeds both measurements in testing. Still, not every device has audiophile-quality sound output.
The Qlink-C is visually distinguished by its 8-core, braided OFC silver-plated wire cable that is rated to withstand 15,000 bending cycles. Both ends terminate in aluminum alloy connectors. The DAC measures 11.81 x 0.99 x 0.58 cm (4.65 x 0.39 x 0.23 in.) and weighs 4.54 g (0.16 oz.).
The Questyle Qlink-C ultra-compact USB-C DAC is available for 4,153 yen (~$26) at Amazon Japan and other retailers in Japan. The company's other offerings are available on Amazon US.
