Jade Audio, a subsidiary of Fiio, has unveiled the Jiezi headphone digital audio converter and amplifier in an aluminum-magnesium alloy body decorated with Eastern motifs.
The Jiezi is offered in a 3.5 mm unbalanced Jiezi A model for most headphones, and a 4.4 mm balanced Jiezi B model for higher-end headphones. The company does note the Jiezi B model has an unbalanced internal design and the 4.4 mm balanced output is only for headphone jack compatibility. Both come with Hi-Res Audio support, allowing audio enthusiasts to enjoy high-resolution music in 32-bit, 384 kHz PCM and DSD formats.
The Jiezi is compatible with Android, Apple iOS, Huawei HarmonyOS, Microsoft Windows, Apple macOS, and Linux devices that have a USB-C port. The integrated USB cable incorporates palladium-plated OFC wiring encased in silicone and a braided outer jacket. The device has support for both USB Audio Class (UAC) 1.0 and 2.0, allowing the Jiezi to be used with game consoles, such as a Nintendo Switch or Sony PlayStation 5.
The Jiezi A has in-line cable controls for calls, music playback, and more. Additional settings including a ten-band PEQ can be adjusted using a web interface on computers or the Fiio control app on Android devices.
The 6 g (0.2 oz.) Jiezi has an SNR of 104 dB with a THD+N of 0.0034% and an output power of 49 mW per channel at 16 ohms. The Jiezi A measures 90 mm (3.5 in.) long, while the Jiezi B measures 100 mm (3.9 in.) long.
The Jiezi A is currently available from Aliexpress for an MSRP of $29.95 in black with gold or red accents. Fiio's other USB DACs are available on Amazon.
