iBasso DX340 Limited Edition houses flagship music player with dual battery and modular amplifier in titanium

The iBasso DX340 flagship music player comes standard with a 486-gram stainless steel chassis, but the Titanium Limited Edition replaces this with CNC-milled titanium. The design is unusual even beyond the chassis material: by loosening two screws on the bottom, the AMP15 amplifier module can be removed and replaced with any iBasso AMP1x module.
This allows users to tailor the sound to their preferences. The included module already provides more than enough power for most headphones, as iBasso specifies 2,150 mW per channel at 32 ohms. An FPGA chip controls the digital-to-analog converter, which iBasso claims results in even better sound quality. iBasso also promises flexibility with the operating system, giving users the choice between the music-focused Mango OS and full Android 13, enabling access to third-party streaming apps.
The iBasso DX340 features a 6-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2,160 x 1,080 and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 ARM chip, a popular choice for music players. This is accompanied by 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of flash storage, of which the latter is expandable via a microSD card reader. The music player has two batteries with capacities of 4,000 mAh and 2,100 mAh. Separate power circuits for digital and analog components are designed to improve audio quality. The batteries provide up to eleven hours of music playback.
Price and availability
The iBasso DX340 Titanium Limited Edition is available now from iBasso Audio and HiFi Passion for approximately €1,790, but is limited to just 300 units worldwide. This makes the limited edition version €200 more expensive than the regular iBasso DX340.
