Samsung's Music Studio 5 and Music Studio 7 will support Alexa+ and a smarter Bixby

We recently covered Samsung’s latest wireless speakers, the Music Studio 5 and Music Studio 7, but we could not go into the speakers’ smart features and connectivity options because Samsung did not provide these details at the time. We finally have clarity, thanks to PCWorld, and we know that both speakers will support Alexa Plus, Samsung’s own Bixby, and Google Gemini.

Alexa+ is Amazon's more capable and conversational AI assistant powered by generative AI, meaning it feels more natural to talk to and supports agentic AI that does things for you on your behalf. Samsung’s Bixby will also soon get a major AI upgrade powered by large language models and third-party integrations with the likes of Perplexity, The Weather Channel, and Uber.

Their design is described as user-friendly, as the Music Studio 5 and the Music Studio 7 both have a button at the top that allows you to start playing your favorite music from streaming services like Amazon Music, Spotify, and YouTube Music with one tap. Audiophiles will be pleased that Spotify Premium users can stream Hi-Res Audio that uses FLAC files at up to 24-bit/44.1kHz resolution.

The new wireless speakers also support AirPlay 2, Spotify Connect, Google Cast, and Bluetooth, while the Music Studio 7 even supports the Samsung Seamless Codec when you play music via a Galaxy phone. We expect the Music Studio 5 to cost $249 and the Music Studio 7 to cost $499 when they arrive later this year.
