The Ugee UT3 is significantly larger and comes with more accessories than the Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 FE+, but is only around $20 cheaper. Is it a bargain in the end? Or are savings being made in the wrong areas? We made the comparison.

At first glance, the Ugee UT3 and the Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 FE+ appear to serve a similar target group, but in practice they differ significantly in terms of focus, performance, and long-term prospects. While the Ugee, with its huge 14.25-inch display and pen support, offers as much drawing space as possible at a relatively low price, the Galaxy Tab S10 FE+ positions itself as a significantly more modern all-round tablet with a stronger focus on performance, connectivity, and software support.

For the display, Ugee relies on a large 60 Hz LC panel with a matte coating and three special color modes, including a color paper and ink paper mode, which are designed to create a more paper-like writing and reading experience. Samsung uses a 13.1-inch panel with a higher refresh rate of 90 Hz and significantly more brightness reserves in the Tab S10 FE+, which makes the system appear smoother and more modern in everyday use, especially when scrolling, gaming, and multitasking. The S Pen also works with lower latency and is more deeply integrated into the system, for example for notes, multitasking, AI functions, and creative apps.

In terms of performance, there are several classes separating the two tablets. The Ugee UT3 features an older MediaTek Helio G99 with slow eMMC storage, which is sufficient for simple everyday tasks but quickly reaches its limits in more complex scenarios. The Galaxy Tab S10 FE+, on the other hand, relies on a significantly more modern 4nm generation Exynos chip, combined with more RAM and faster storage, which translates into noticeably shorter loading times, better multitasking, and higher gaming performance. Add to that Wi-Fi 6E, optional 5G, a fingerprint sensor, and IP68 protection, while the Ugee visibly lags behind in connectivity and convenience features.

Samsung also has a clear advantage in terms of software and cameras. The Ugee UT3 comes with Android 14 with only a few customizations and an unclear update outlook, while the cameras are more of a stopgap solution for simple photos and video conferencing. Samsung launches with the latest Android version and One UI, promises several years of OS and security updates, and equips the Tab S10 FE+ with higher-resolution cameras including 4K video, making it much more flexible for video calls, scans, and occasional photos.

In terms of price, the Ugee UT3 (buy here on Amazon) remains attractive at just under $400 for anyone looking for as much screen space as possible and a matte panel for writing, sketching, and reading, and who is willing to accept compromises in terms of speed, sound, wireless standards, and updates. The Galaxy Tab S10 FE+ is a little more expensive (buy here on Amazon), but offers a much more well-rounded overall package and is recommended as a universal work and multimedia tablet with serious pen integration and better future-proofing.
