The world awaits Samsung's Galaxy S26 series after its recent foray into the trifold universe with the Galaxy Z TriFold. For the time being, the Galaxy S26 Ultra and co. are not expected to arrive before next month. In the meantime, the company has previewed the accompanying Galaxy Book6 series at CES 2026 in Las Vegas.
Surprisingly, Samsung has avoided directly replacing the Galaxy Book5 Pro 360 (curr. $1,479 on Amazon) despite taking on Intel's Panther Lake architecture. Instead, it has reverted to its Ultra-branding with the Galaxy Book6 Ultra, which it has equipped with up to the Core Ultra X9 388H, 64 GB of RAM and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 laptop GPU to rival the MacBook Pro 16. Moreover, the Galaxy Book6 Ultra features an 80.2 Wh battery, a haptic trackpad and a 2.8K AMOLED display that also delivers 1,000 nits peak brightness and a 30-120 Hz variable refresh rate.
Below the Galaxy Book6 Ultra sits the Galaxy Book6 Pro, which comes in 14-inch and 16-inch variants. Although these also contain haptic trackpads, they drop to the Core Ultra X7 as their most powerful processor option with 67 and 78 Wh batteries for 14-inch and 16-inch variants, respectively. Both Galaxy Book6 Pro sizes miss out on dedicated graphics, too.
Last but not least is the entry-level Galaxy Book6. Restricted to lesser Core Ultra 5 or Core Ultra 7 processors from Intel's Panther Lake family, the Galaxy Book6 also comes in 14-inch and 16-inch variants. Unfortunately, the Galaxy Book6 misses out on a haptic trackpad in favour of a conventional click pad while dropping to a 61.2 Wh battery, even for its 16-inch variant. The Galaxy Book6 series will reach selected markets later this month.
