Apple's high-end MacBook Pro lineup is all set to be updated with the M5 Pro and M5 Max SoCs. Rumored to launch alongside macOS 26.3, a premium reseller has already reported decreasing stocks for current models.

It is an open secret that Apple is gearing up to release new MacBook Pros with M5 Pro and M5 Max chips very, very soon. Prominent analyst Mark Gurman has previously stated that the new MacBook Pros will launch alongside macOS 26.3. which is currently in its beta.

Now, fresh rumors continue to indicate that the new MacBook Pros in 14- and 16-inch flavors are just around the corner. In a tip shared with MacRumors, an Apple premium reseller has claimed that stocks for the current generation high-end MacBook Pros are dwindling rapidly, which is usually a sure shot indication that a new product launch is on the cards.

As pointed out by MacRumors, Apple coordinates quite closely with resellers prior to product launches in order to make sure that current SKUs don't end up piling up. Moreover, the Cupertino giant has also released Xcode 26.3, which is quite weird since Xcode updates typically take place alongside macOS updates.

For whatever reason, both iOS 26.3 and macOS 26.3 are yet to be released, which might indicate that Apple wishes to release them once the new MacBooks are out, in order to not giveaway any unreleased identifiers. Of course, the publication further adds that reality could be different, and Apple is simply holding back releasing macOS 26.3 because it isn't ready yet.

At any rate, it is abundantly clear that new M5 Pro and M5 Max MacBook Pros will be launched soon enough, and we definitely advise our readers to hold off purchasing M4 Pro and M4 Max powered variants right now. Of course, the vanilla M5 MacBook Pro (currently $1,875 on Amazon) will not be affected.
