New Apple MacBook Pro refreshes rumoured within the next few hours

The MacBook Pro 14 with Apple's M5 chipset has been available since October 2025 (curr. $1,511 on Amazon). Reportedly, more powerful M5 Pro and M5 Max alternatives are finally ready to hit shelves. Not only that, but the first new MacBook Pro 16 since November 2024 should be joining its smaller sibling with the same processors.
On the one hand, Mark Gurman suggests that new MacBook Pro 14 and MacBook Pro 16 releases could occur between February and March. Writing in his Power On newsletter, the analyst claims that Apple has scheduled these refreshes to coincide with macOS 26.3, which entered its third beta last week. On the other hand, leaker @ld_vova suggests that M5 Pro and M5 Max releases could occur by the end of February 2.
As usual, Apple has not offered any indications publicly about when it will be refreshing its higher-end MacBook Pro models. However, the 4-6 week lead times of some more expensive M4 series variants on the Apple Online Store imply that an M5 Pro and M5 Max refresh is close. Currently, new chipsets are expected to be the main upgrades for this generation, with a redesign, Face ID, and an OLED touchscreen not slated until late 2026 or early 2027.
