Signeo Design International launches Nakamichi Elite Pro P800JP open-back planar headphones

Signeo Design International has launched the Nakamichi Elite Pro P800JP open-back planar headphones for fans of the brand that reminisce about its hi-fi past. Nakamichi was founded in 1948 in Japan and became well-known as a manufacturer of high-quality cassette tape decks. Hong Kong-based Signeo Design now owns the brand name following Nakamichi's bankruptcy in 2002.
The headphones use 80 mm planar magnetic drivers tuned for a flat, smooth frequency response from 10 Hz to 60 kHz. They have an impedance of 32 ohms and a sensitivity of 100 dB, with a rated power of 10 mW (max 30 mW).
A detachable 4.4 mm balanced cable terminates at the headphone with mini-XLR terminals. The 4N OFC (oxygen-free copper) cable is designed with a three-core shielding structure to reduce interference from nearby EMI, RF, and Wi-Fi sources. The aluminum-bodied headphones measure 160 × 201 × 111 mm (6.3 x 7.9 x 4.4) and weigh 710 g (25 oz.).
The Nakamichi Elite Pro P800JP headphones have a dealer-set price and are available from select retailers in Japan, including Fujiya Camera at a price of 127,998 yen (~$820). Readers outside Japan might consider the Audeze LCD-X planar headphones sold on Amazon.
