Details of new budget Sony wireless over-ear headphones leak
Sony has already released multiple pairs of over-ear headphones this year. For instance, the company started selling The Collexion in May. Additionally, it now offers the WH-1000XM6 in Olive Gray and Sandstone finishes (curr. $398 on Amazon).
According to recent leaks, Sony is preparing to launch the WH-1000XM4C and WH-CH730N as cheaper alternatives to the WH-1000XM6, too. Reportedly, the former will arrive about a month sooner than the latter. However, around €100 could separate the pair, with the WH-1000XM4C and WH-CH730N rumoured to retail for around €249 and €149, respectively.
Now, new details about Sony's next pair of budget over-ear wireless headphones have surfaced in early retail listings. Specifically, multiple European retailers have listed the WH-CH530, affirming an initial leak from the end of July. Moreover, the listings identify Black, White, Cobalt, Mint and Pink colours, although these names may differ in certain countries.
Nonetheless, these listings suggest that the WH-CH530 will join the WH-CH730N in October as part of a simultaneous release. Currently, these retailers assert that the WH-CH530 will launch for €50-€55, compared to €149 for the WH-CH730N.
The former will lack active noise cancellation (ANC) though, among other cutbacks compared to Sony's more expensive pairs of over-ear headphones. Still, this pricing range would see the WH-CH530 undercut its predecessor, which arrived in 2023 for €69. Technical details and device pictures have yet to leak at this stage.
