Right on the cusp of the expected launch of the RTX 40 SUPER, we have full specifications of the RTX 4080 SUPER, RTX 4070 Ti SUPER, and the RTX 4070 SUPER courtesy of VideoCardz. The report alleges everything from final core counts to clock speeds of the trio of GeForce GPUs that Team Green is reportedly releasing later this month.
RTX 4080 SUPER specifications
Starting with the most powerful RTX 40 SUPER GPU, VideoCardz reports the board is using an AD103-400 chip with 10,240 CUDA cores, a 2,295 MHz base, and 2,550 MHz boost clocks alongside a 320 W TGP. Memory-wise, the RTX 4080 SUPER supposedly rocks 16 GB of GDDR6X VRAM running at 23 Gbps over a 256-bit wide bus. This results in a memory bandwidth of 736 GB/s.
Based on these specifications, the RTX 4080 SUPER vs RTX 4080 battle results in 512 more CUDA cores, a nice 90 MHz base, and a 50 MHz boost clock uptick for the SUPER card. The memory specs have also seen a minor bump with the RTX 4080 SUPER reportedly boasting a 2.7% memory bandwidth and speed increase.
Interestingly, Moore's Law Is Dead revealed almost the exact same RTX 4080 SUPER specs back in November albeit with 24 Gbps instead of the 23 Gbps we are hearing now. The leaker also claimed that the RTX 4080 SUPER will be 6-9% better than the RTX 4080 and could land at $999.99 MSRP, effectively making the card a rival to the RX 7900 XTX (Available on Amazon).
RTX 4070 Ti SUPER specifications
Sitting below the RTX 4080 SUPER, the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER will allegedly use a cut-down AD103-275 GPU with 8,448 CUDA cores, a 2,340 MHz base, and a 2,610 MHz boost frequency. Additionally, the board supposedly maintains 16 GB of GDDR6X VRAM, a 256-bit wide bus, and a 21 Gbps memory speed for a total bandwidth of 672 GB/s.
Comparing the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER specifications to the RTX 4070 Ti, the SUPER variant seems to pack +768 cores, a 30 MHz gain in boost clock, and a 33.3% improvement in both memory capacity (+4 GB) and bandwidth.
Once again, VideoCardz’s leak matches MLID’s information where the leaker suggested a 14-22% performance gain over the RTX 4070 Ti for a final blow to the RX 7900 XT (Available on Amazon).
RTX 4070 SUPER specifications
The AD104-350-based RTX 4070 SUPER is the weakest of the RTX 40 SUPER trio with a purported CUDA core count of 7,168, base/boost clocks of 1,980/2,475 MHz, and a 220 W TGP. However, unlike its more powerful siblings, the RTX 4070 SUPER appears to retain the 12 GB memory capacity, 192-bit wide bus, 21 Gbps speed, and 504 GB/s bandwidth of the RTX 4070 (Available on Amazon).
So, the key differences that the RTX 4070 SUPER features are 1,280 more CUDA cores, a 60 MHz base clock increase, and a 20 W higher TGP.
Since these leaked RTX 4070 SUPER details are identical to what MLID revealed, we should take the leaker’s claim of “only 3-6% weaker than the RTX 4070 Ti” and a $599-649 MSRP seriously.
Fortunately, we won’t have to wait too long to find out the official RTX 40 SUPER specifications and prices as NVIDIA is reportedly announcing the new cards on January 8 with the first batch of reviews going out on January 16.
