Big RTX 40 SUPER leak reveals specifications, price, and performance of RTX 4080 SUPER, RTX 4070 Ti SUPER, and RTX 4070 SUPER

Adding to the ever-growing pile of RTX 40 SUPER leaks, Moore’s Law is Dead has leaked extensive details regarding the RTX 4080 SUPER, RTX 4070 Ti SUPER, and RTX 4070 SUPER. The information which includes specifics such as specifications, price, and release date confirms much of what we’ve already heard while also divulging new details.

First up, MLID alleges that the entire RTX 40 SUPER series will be announced at CES on January 8. The new GPUs will reportedly launch at different dates to “capitalize on news cycles”. Per the leaker, the majority of the RTX 40 SUPER stock will land in the “last half of January and early February” for Chinese New Year.

RTX 4080 SUPER specifications and price

MLID claims that, like the rest of the RTX 40 SUPER series, the RTX 4080 SUPER will feature the controversial 12VHPWR power connector. The GPU reportedly employs an AD103 chip with 10,240 CUDA cores, a 256-bit wide bus, 16 GB of GDDR6X VRAM running at 24 Gbps, and a 320 W TDP.

Additionally, the leaker pits the RTX 4080 SUPER performance at 6-9% better than the RTX 4080 making the board a direct competitor to the RX 7900 XTX. This is also reflected in the leaked RTX 4080 SUPER price of US$999 which is the same as the launch MSRP of the RX 7900 XTX (Available on Amazon).

RTX 4070 Ti SUPER specifications and price

Like the RTX 4080 SUPER, the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER also supposedly uses the AD103 GPU but with cutdown 8,448 CUDA cores, 16 GB of GDDR6X VRAM running at a slower 21-22.4 Gbps, a 256-bit wide bus, and a 285 W TDP. With a performance gain of 14-22% vs the RTX 4070 Ti, MLID suggests NVIDIA wants to “kill the RX 7900 XT once and for all”. 

Finally, MLID reports the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER price to lie somewhere between US$799 and US$849. As a reference, the RTX 4070 Ti and the RX 7900 XT launched at MSRPs of US$799 and US$899 respectively. However, both GPUs can now be found at considerably less. For instance, you can find the RX 7900 XT for as low as US$799 on Amazon.

RTX 4070 SUPER specifications and price

The weakest and the cheapest of the purported RTX 40 SUPER trio, the RTX 4070 SUPER, could carry an AD104 GPU with 7,168 CUDA cores, a 192-bit wide bus, 12 GB of GDDR6X memory with a speed of 21 Gbps, and a 220 W TDP. The board appears to lag behind the RTX 4070 Ti by 3-6%. If true, this would be a significant improvement since the RTX 4070 Ti leads the vanilla RTX 4070 by 24% per our testing.

In addition to being considerably faster, the RTX 4070 SUPER price is allegedly the same as the RTX 4070 launch MSRP as MLID claims figures of US$599 to US$649.

What’s more interesting, NVIDIA could cut the price of the RTX 4070 to less than US$550 making it a much better competitor to the RX 7800 XT.

Before we wrap this up, it is important to remember that the RTX 40 SUPER series hasn’t been confirmed by NVIDIA yet. So things like specifications and especially launch prices are still up in the air. Therefore, take the information presented here with a grain of salt.
