Casio has officially confirmed the new G-Shock GW-5000HS watches, which are set to launch globally, starting in Japan and select European markets. The GW-5000HS-1ER and GW-5000HS-7ER models were initially spotted on a third-party European retailer's website (David et Philly) but are now listed on Casio’s official UK website with an expected February release.
Both models are part of the Heritage Series. The GW-5000HS-1ER features a black resin case and strap, while the GW-5000HS-7ER comes in a clean white finish. These watches incorporate Casio’s signature Tough Solar tech, allowing them to charge from ambient light sources. They are also equipped with Multiband 6 radio-controlled timekeeping for precise synchronization with atomic clocks worldwide.
Other notable features include 200-meter water resistance, a dual illuminator for better readability in low light, five daily alarms, world time functionality, and a bio-based resin strap for bonus sustainability. The shock-resistant structure should be great for everyday wear and even harsher conditions, while the minimalistic, monochrome designs are a nice, subtle nod to the legacy of the original GW-5000 series from the 1980s.
In Europe (specifically the UK), the GW-5000HS-1ER and GW-5000HS-7ER are priced at £279 (~$340) each. Japanese pricing is set at ¥50,000, which is approximately $318. These models will be available for pre-order in Europe, with some retailers listing an expected release date of February 20. The rollout to other markets, including the US, has yet to be detailed, but listings on the UK site suggest the launch will expand to other global regions soon.
