The latest leaks surrounding the Casio MRG-B2100R-2AJR have brought new details to light, especially regarding the watch's design, materials, and release. Previously speculated in earlier leaks with hints of a blue dial, the new images and accompanying information have clarified some key features of this premium timepiece.
The MRG-B2100R-2AJR draws inspiration from traditional Japanese aesthetics, incorporating a theme centered around "Aizumi (藍墨)," or indigo ink. This is not the first time Casio has shown affinity for blending Japanese cultural elements into its MR-G series, with the square MRG-B5000BA-1 being a comparable predecessor, featuring a similar indigo blue-colored bezel.
From the leaked visuals, the octagonal bezel of the MRG-B2100R-2AJR stands out prominently. Constructed from Cobarion - a cobalt-chromium alloy - the bezel has a platinum-like shine and four times the hardness of titanium. The band complements this bold design with a textured finish which adds an active, sporty feel to the watch. The case appears to utilize DLC (diamond-like carbon) coating for enhanced scratch resistance. The dial features intricate wave-like patterns. Gold accents on the hands and indices add more contrast and elegance to the deep blue base. Furthermore, the MRG-B2100R-2AJR is expected to come with Tough Solar charging, Multi-Band 6 time calibration, and smartphone connectivity, similar to the other premium MR-G watches.
The MRG-B2100R-2AJR will reportedly launch on January 24, 2025, with a price tag of ¥550,000 (approximately $3,800). Given its association with the MR-G lineup and the Japan-exclusive focus of similar models, global availability is still uncertain. From the details we've gathered so far, this timepiece is likely to generate a whole lot of attention within the luxury watch community.
