Leaked: Casio G-Shock DW-6900TR 30th Anniversary models to feature original 1995 colors
We're being treated to a slew of new Casio launches and leaks this week. Now, a whole new leak has surfaced, hinting at a special 30th-anniversary edition of the iconic G-Shock DW-6900 series. Named the DW-6900TR, this commemorative release will reportedly revive the original colorways from the watch's 1995 debut: black (DW-6900TR-1), red (DW-6900TR-4), and yellow (DW-6900TR-9).
The yellow version appears to hold a lot of significance, as it was historically popular within the U.S. streetwear scene and earned the nickname "Slasher." Alongside these retro designs, the watch will feature a white LED backlight with "Since 1995" text displayed.
If the DW-6900TR models follow the traditional DW-6900 series features, they could include shock resistance, 200-meter water resistance, a full auto-calendar, a 1/100-second stopwatch, and a countdown timer. Additional features like an EL backlight with afterglow and multi-function alarms may also be expected, keeping in line with the functionality that made the DW-6900 series a streetwear and sports staple over the decades.
Though the DW-6900TR has not been officially announced, it is expected to launch in February as a highly limited release. Collectors and diehard G-Shock fans will likely have to scramble extra hard to get their hands on these models, due to their likely high demand and the sheer nostalgic appeal.
Further information regarding pricing and availability is yet to be confirmed.
