Casio has launched the G-Shock GA-2100 and GA-100 Flame Inside collection watches in the US. The wearables were released in Japan last year and appeared on the brand’s Stateside website in December. There are four models in the range: the GA2100FL-1A, the GA2100FL-8A, the GA100FL-1A and the GA100FL-8A.
The GA2100FL is a shock resistant watch with a carbon core guard structure. It is also water resistant to 200 m (~660 ft) and is expected to run for up to three years on its battery. Other features include a white LED backlight and a fully automatic calendar up to the year 2099. The watch offers 31 time zones, a 1/100-second stopwatch, five daily alarms and hourly time signals.
The GA100FL is also shock resistant, with the same 200 m water resistance, but it is magnetic resistant as well. Compared to the GA2100FL, it has a shorter battery life expectancy of two years. Another change is the amber LED backlight. Similar features include 29 time zones, a 1/1000-second stopwatch, a countdown timer, five daily alarms and hourly time signals.
The 1A models have an “Orange Passion” hybrid watch face and gray resin casing, while the 8A variants have a “Blue Conviction” face and black casing and band. You can now buy the Casio G-Shock GA2100FL-1A and GA2100FL-8A watches for $130 each. The Casio G-Shock GA100FL-1A and GA100FL-8A wearables are slightly more expensive at $140 each. These models have also launched in Australia and New Zealand and are expected to reach Europe in the future.
