The Casio G-Shock DWE5600JB1A9 watch, designed in collaboration with J Balvin, is now available to pre-order in the US. The model, also known as DWE-5600JB-1A9, was announced by the Japanese watch brand and the Latin artist earlier this year.
You can now pre-order the Casio G-Shock DWE5600JB1A9 in the US for $230, the expected price. This makes it far more expensive than DW5600 watches like the DW5600E-1V, which typically retails for $99.95 but is currently available at Amazon for $44.97.
Differences between the J Balvin collaboration model and this older 5600 series wearable include the addition of the Carbon Core Guard structure. It also features an LED rather than electroluminescent backlight, which Casio says increases the battery life by three years; the product page indicates that the newer watch will run for up to five years on a CR2016 battery.
On top of this, a more unusual feature of the DWE5600JB1A9 is that it comes with two straps and casing options in black and yellow. Other features include 200m water resistance, a 1/100-second stopwatch, a countdown timer and a multifunctional alarm. Casio has yet to announce any plans to bring the Casio G-Shock DWE5600JB1A9 watch to other markets like Europe.
