Casio DW-5000R-1AER Origin Revival restocked in the UK amid high demand

The Casio G-Shock DW-5000R-1AER - a modern iteration of Casio’s first-ever G-Shock from 1983 - is now back in stock on the Casio UK website, priced at £179 (~$218.46). This release has been making rounds since it was first launched in November 2024, and it pays homage to the original design while incorporating updated materials and tech.

The DW-5000R retains the classic square form factor, screw-down case back, and brick-patterned display from the original model. Its case and band are now made from bio-based resin, reflecting Casio’s efforts toward more sustainable materials, as evident by the recent Casio. The watch features a high-brightness LED backlight for improved visibility and a slightly larger 42.3mm case size.

Built for rough use, the watch includes 200-meter water resistance and Casio’s shock-resistant structure, for bonus durability. Other functionalities include a stopwatch, countdown timer, multiple alarms, and 12/24-hour time format options.

Manufactured in Yamagata, Japan, the DW-5000R is a solid symbol of the craftsmanship and engineering precision G-Shock is known for. It is now available through the G-Shock UK website, but considering it sold out fairly quickly the last time it was live, you might have to hurry this time around.
