Ayaneo has only just go the Pocket Ace out the door after releasing the Ayaneo 3 and Pocket Micro Classic earlier this year. On top of that, the company has indicated that the Pocket S2 should be available later this month as a direct successor to the already powerful Ayaneo Pocket S (curr. $589.99 on Amazon).
Now, it has hinted at the release of another new device, which should be available later this year. While Ayaneo has focused on expanding its Android portfolio in recent months, its latest teaser marks the return of a new Windows-based handheld from the company.
As the image below shows, the device in question is the Flip 1S, which has appeared a few months after Ayaneo sowed confusion about outstanding Flip DS and Flip KB orders. At this stage, the company has not provided any specifics about how the Flip 1S will differ from the Flip DS and Flip KB.
Typically, Ayaneo's '1S' releases contain minor hardware revisions, such as the AM01S, the Air 1S or the Geek 1S. The Flip 1S may buck this trend though, with Ayaneo hinting that the device will be a 'true leap forward' rather than 'just a return' of its clamshell form factor. Presumably, Ayaneo will turn to AMD again for an APU like the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 regardless of what refinements and redesigns it has planned for its next Flip release.
