Asus' website reveals that the ROG Strix Scar 18 (2025) is now available for preorder at some US retailers, including Antonline and XoticPC. Official prices start at $2,699 for the configuration with an Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX, Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 Ti Laptop GPU, 16GB RAM and a 1TB SSD.
The version with a GeForce RTX 5080 Laptop GPU and otherwise identical specs costs $3,399, while the maxed-out model variant features the GeForce RTX 5090 Laptop GPU, 64GB RAM and a 2TB SSD for $5,499. All SKUs are equipped with a 16:10 18-inch display with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels and 240Hz refresh rate. Thanks to its mini-LED backlight, this panel can hit a peak HDR brightness of 1,200 nits.
This makes the Asus ROG Strix Scar 18 one of the more expensive, but also one of the most powerful gaming laptops on the market. The notebook’s GPU has a TDP of up to 175 watts, and it can consume up to 250 watts in combination with the processor. Asus has installed three fans and a vapor chamber to keep temperatures in check.
The ROG Strix Scar 18 has already earned Notebookcheck Top Rated Award. In our in-depth review, we praised the high performance and excellent mini-LED screen. We also liked the comfortable keyboard and two Thunderbolt 5 ports. On the other hand, we criticized the lack of PCIe 5.0 as well as the very loud cooling system.
