Following the unofficial reveal of the black-red Casio G-Shock DW-5600BBR-1, a new G-Steel model registration has now come to light, and this one might become a big hit not just because of its potential feature set - but also its name. The GST-B1000 has just appeared in international certification databases, making it the first time a G-Steel model has used a four-digit format, as noticed by popular Japanese blog Great G-Shock World. This means there's a high chance that Casio may be preparing a new top-of-the-line flagship.
For context, G-Steel is one of Casio's most well-known product lines (especially in recent years), popular for using metal bezels in designs that feel premium but remain relatively accessible. Previous hits like the GST-B100 series came with Tough Solar charging, Bluetooth connectivity, and a chronograph-style layout that can be compared to high-end gear-driven watches. The GST-B1000 could follow the same trajectory, if not exceed it.
While official specs haven’t been disclosed, there’s good reason to believe that the GST-B1000 will include many of Casio’s highest-end features. The name itself falls in line with models like the GWG-B1000, which is the current Mud Master flagship. Casio has traditionally reserved four-digit model names for the most feature-packed flagships across other series, so there might be similar intent here. Unfortunately, we have no images pertaining to the new model yet, but more concrete information should be out soon.
