Back in February, the military-themed Casio G-Shock MR-G Frogman BF1000RG surfaced online through a detailed leak, revealing the model’s rugged design, a titanium silver case, and a standout olive green rubber strap. At the time, we reported it as a near-complete reveal, with pricing and speculated internals already outlined.
Now, a new Japanese report has all but confirmed its launch. The model number MRG-BF1000RG-3AJR is explicitly mentioned, and the release is said to be "almost certain" for May. The new announcement seems to have stemmed from dealer-level sources and local distributor updates, though no formal statement has been made by Casio yet.
The watch stays true to the visuals we saw in February. It features a strong military color palette - a silver titanium case paired with beige markers and an olive band - and will come with G-Shock’s top-tier analog dive-watch tech. The casing lacks DLC coating, but instead appears to be treated with titanium carbide.
From a design perspective, the Frogman is shaping up to be one of the more premium-looking military-styled G-Shocks in the analog category. The new post from Great G-Shock World even goes as far as comparing its aesthetic to other well-known military watches from brands like Breitling and Bell & Ross.
However, there’s still no word on international release timelines. As per recent MR-G trends, the BF1000RG-3AJR will most likely release in Japan first, with a delay of about a week or more for other regions. A price tag of around 600,000 yen (~$4,000) is to be expected, as reported previously.
We’ll update you with a new story once a formal listing or Casio announcement goes live.
