A leaker has managed to pull out early specifications for the two Asus ROG Ally 2 variants that leaked online earlier today. While the more powerful RC73X1 variant could launch with up to 64 GB of RAM, the RC73YA variant may have a 50% larger battery than the original ROG Ally.

Earlier today, several pictures of two new Asus ROG Ally gaming handhelds emerged online. Based on early expectations, both will replace just the original ROG Ally rather than the ROG Ally X too. As we have discussed separately, only the black variant (RC73XA) pictured above appears set to launch with AMD's long-awaited Ryzen Z2 Extreme chipset.

A few more details about both variants can now be gleaned thanks to more sleuthing by @94G8LA. For example, it seems that Asus will complement the Ryzen Z2 Extreme with 2 TB of M.2 2280 storage and up to 64 GB of LPDDR5X RAM clocked at 8,533 MT/s. Meanwhile, the white model (RC73YA) looks set to launch with 1 TB of storage but 16 GB of RAM.

Additionally, the screenshot below describes the white variant as containing a 60 Wh battery for a 50% capacity improvement over the original ROG Ally (curr. $549.99 on Amazon). Both ROG Ally 2 variants appear to feature 7-inch displays sourced from BOE, too. However, we can only make out the mention of a 1080p resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate on the black variant.

According to @94G8LA, the latter may actually launch as the ROG Ally 2 (Xbox Edition). While the exact usage of its dedicated Xbox button remains unknown for now, the device should be more powerful than its white sibling. As it stands, it looks as though the white variant will leverage a quad-core AMD Aerith Plus APU with a 20 W TDP, compared to 36 W for the Ryzen Z2 Extreme inside its black counterpart. Release details have not emerged yet, either.
