Leaker Hakasushi has shared new insights into the state of the DJI Mini 5 series, nearly five months after rumours about the drone first surfaced online. In short, the Mini 5 series will not be DJI's next consumer drone release. Instead, that will be the Mavic 4 Pro, which DJI has now confirmed will officially launch on May 13.
However, Hakasushi believes that DJI will be replacing the Mini 4 Pro (curr. $1,399 on Amazon) before the end of the year. Recent suggestions that the Mini 5 will arrive this summer could be wide of the mark, though. Likewise, Hakasushi implies that there is no standard Mini 5 in development yet, either.
As it stands, the leaker claims to have received 'reliable info' that DJI is targeting a September release for the Mini 5 Pro. Thus, we would expect more concrete leaks to start appearing in late summer. In the meantime, recent leaks suggest that DJI will bring larger motors to the Mini series with its fifth generation release, albeit perhaps with optional propeller guards too.
