DJI may have confirmed the global launch date of the Mavic 4 Pro earlier this week. Nonetheless, leaks for its long awaited Mavic 3 Pro replacement (curr. $1,999.99 on Amazon) do not stop coming. This time it is the RC Pro 2 remote controller in the firing line, which has played a bit part compared to the Mavic 4 Pro itself until now.
To recap, the design of the RC Pro 2 has been known for some time. However, its feature set and how it differed from the existing RC 2 was unclear behind visual observations. A Slovakian retailer has now revealed several key specifications ahead of schedule though, which have been spotted by the likes of Jasper Ellens and Igor Bogdanov.
For example, the pair claim that DJI has equipped the RC Pro 2 with a 7-inch Mini LED display to maximise outdoors usability. To that end, the display is said to offer 2,000 nits peak brightness, 1,600 nits full panel brightness, a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio and 98% coverage of the DCI-P3 colour space. The remote controller can be swiveled for vertical shooting too and will automatically power on/off when its display is unfolded or folded away.
The RC Pro 2 will feature 128 GB of built-in storage too but only 4 hours of battery life between charges. On top of that, OcuSync 4+ technology will allow the remote controller to provide up to 30 km of range in North America. The RC Pro 2 should be available from May 13 on its own or when purchased as part of the Mavic 4 Pro Creator Combo. Reportedly, DJI will offer compatibility for its Air 3, Air 3S and Mini 4 Pro drones at launch, as well as the Mavic 4 Pro.
