Anbernic has shared new details about the RG34XX SP online, three days after the company unveiled its latest Miyoo Flip alternative (curr. $74.99 on Amazon). Initially, Anbernic focused on what its latest handheld looked like while also providing a few specifications like the inclusion of a 3.4-inch and 720 x 480-pixel display.
Now, it has confirmed that this 3:2 display will be complemented by the Allwinner H700, a quad-core chipset that Anbernic has turned to frequently in the last year or so. Theoretically, this means that the RG34XX SP is only as powerful as the existing RG35XX SP. However, the jump from 1 GB to 2 GB of LPDDR4 RAM should provide a moderate performance increase in certain circumstances.
Other elements like Bluetooth 4.2 and 5 GHz Wi-Fi connectivity return though, as does a 3,300 mAh battery that Anbernic rates for up to 6 hours of usage. Seemingly, Anbernic has thrown some shade the way of Miyoo too, whose own clamshell handheld still suffers from hinge issues even after a V2 refresh. Although Anbernic has not been explicit in doing so, it has taken the unusual step of showcasing the RG34XX SP's hinge structure and its rigidity.
