Other premium features include the powerful Arc 140T iGPU, 16 GB of LPDDR5X-8448 RAM, and 1 TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD, Wi-Fi 7 wireless connectivity, dual Thunderbolt 4 connectors and a microSD card reader.

Launched in Q1 of this year, the 2025 Vivobook S16 models from Asus are now seeing their first significant price drops. This time around, the best prices are offered by Staples, which haven’t focused on good computer deals in a while. The Asus Vivobook S16 on sale comes with premium features like an OLED screen, top-tier mobile processor from Intel and great connectivity for only $900 - a 21% drop from the initial launch price.

This model is equipped with a high-quality 16-inch OLED screen produced by Samsung. It might not be on par with the latest TV panels, but the 600 nit peak HDR brightness is plenty bright for a laptop, and the contrast thanks to the true blacks enabled by the OLED technology. To further improve contrast and clarity, the panel comes with a glossy finish, while the DCI-P3 color gamut hits 100%. Native resolution is set to 2880 x 1800 and refresh rate goes up to 120 Hz.

At the heart of the system lies one of the fastest mobile processors from Intel available right now - the Core Ultra 9 285H. It features 16 cores and 16 threads boosting to a maximum of 5.4 GHz and it integrates an NPU with 13 TOPS, as well as the powerful Arc 140T iGPU with 8 Xe cores that support XeSS.

Complementing the powerful processor are 16 GB of LPDDR5X-8448 RAM and a 1 TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD. More premium specs include the Wi-Fi 7 + BT 5.4 wireless card and FHD webcam with IR sensor and Windows Hello support, plus a microSD card reader.

Port selection prominently features 2x Thunderbolt 4 connectors with data / display / power delivery modes, 2x USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 connectors, an audio jack and an HDMI 2.1 TMDS video out.

Despite its thin profile of only 0.63 inches (1.6 cm) and the 3.31 lbs (1.5 kg) total weight, Asus still managed to squeeze in a sizeable 75 Wh  battery that can last at least 10 hours in day-to-day tasks.
