Asus has already introduced the new Vivobook S16, and now the laptop has become available for purchase in European markets such as Germany. Specifically, the 16-inch notebook with the model number S3607QA-PL006W can be ordered for €999 including 19% VAT. Apparently, another configuration of the Vivobook S16 will carry the model number S3607QA-PL004W and a lower price tag of €899. This variant is equipped with a 512GB instead of 1TB SSD. Both variants sport soldered 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and the same exact Qualcomm Snapdragon X1-26-100 processor.
This ARM chipset features an NPU with 45 TOPS, which should result in decent performance in AI workloads. Furthermore, these new Asus laptops are equipped with a 16-inch display with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels, a response time of 0.2ms and a refresh rate of 120Hz. The IPS panel supposedly has a peak brightness of 500 nits and a typical brightness of 400 nits. According to Asus, the sRGB color space is fully covered.
Furthermore, the Vivobook S16 weighs 3.8 lbs and measures 14 x 9.9 x 0.7 inches. It also has a Full-HD webcam, as well as built-in microphones and speakers. In terms of connectivity, there’s one HDMI 2.1 port, along with two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A and two USB 4.0 ports that support display output. WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 4.3 are onboard, while the 70Wh battery can be charged to 60% in just 49 minutes. Asus also claims that the Vivobook S16 meets the US MIL-STD-810H standard and has a battery life of up to 32 hours. However, a quite similar version of this laptop lasted almost 20 hours in our comprehensive review.
