With over 5 million players worldwide, Assassin's Creed Shadows has been a huge success since its release. And there's no end in sight, with a new DLC called Claws of Awaji set to add over 10 hours of gameplay. However, given the success of this title, it could also make an appearance on Nintendo Switch 2, and Ubisoft executives may have just confirmed this hypothesis.
During their quarterly results conference call, CEO Yves Guillemot and CFO Frederick Duguet made a number of announcements and dropped a number of hints, according to IGN. At first, Duguet clarified that the license included other titles to be announced at a later date. Later, when asked by an investor, he hinted at a new game to be released on Nintendo Switch 2.
Obviously, at this stage, it could be any number of Ubisoft-owned games. But Yves Guillemot also spoke up when another investor turned his attention to Assassin's Creed Shadows, adding, according to IGN: “And we also have new versions that will be available on other machines.”
In other words, while the game is currently available on PS5, Xbox Series, PC, Mac, and on GeForce Now and Amazon Luna, it could well make its appearance on Nintendo Switch 2. However, it should be noted that other media are also possible, such as PS4, Xbox One and cell phones.
To support this hypothesis, rumors have also been making the rounds in recent months. Indeed, a version of Assassin's Creed Shadows has obtained a PEGI rating. And on May 1, 2025, Ubisoft's official Brazilian account made a post on X suggesting that the game would be released on Nintendo Switch 2.
So there are plenty of clues pointing to the imminent arrival of this opus on this platform. And it's fair to say that it could be a huge success, if the game isn't limited by the performance of this console.
