Apple's brand-new crossbody strap for the iPhone 17 series first emerged in photos back in April, and now SonnyDickson has published two more images that allegedly show the crossbody strap in detail. The strap is apparently made of braided nylon, and it attaches to the iPhone with two thin fabric loops.
While the iPhone 17 itself has no mounting points for this strap, it is expected to be attachable to both Apple's TechWoven Case and the entirely redesigned clear case. The crossbody strap can be adjusted in length to fit different body sizes. In these pictures, the orange version of the strap is shown, but Apple will probably offer a larger selection of colors, including green, brown, blue, purple and black.
Such crossbody straps are popular with some users as they make it easy to carry a smartphone even when wearing clothes without fitting pockets. Many photography and video enthusiasts also appreciate crossbody straps because the smartphone camera can be accessed more quickly as the iPhone doesn’t have to be taken out of a pocket.
The concept of a smartphone crossbody strap is by no means new, as numerous comparable products can be found on Amazon for around $10. It’s reasonable to assume that Apple's official crossbody strap will carry a much higher price tag. The strap is expected to be officially unveiled on Tuesday, September 9, along with the iPhone 17 series.
